{BLEEDING.ORANGE + BLACK}

31 Oct

This blog post is specifically for my husband and mother-in-law. Today, is not only all hallows eve, but a day to celebrate the SF Giants and their BIG win for their title as World Series Champs. Now, I’m not going to lie, most of the time I could care less about baseball (the whole Varni Family can contest to that), but there is something quite special about living near the majority of San Francisco Giants fans and observing their undeniable love for their home team. Now, I can see why my husband and his mother are truly passionate fans. It will be exciting to see everyone in SF bleeding their orange and black while the players come back for a homecoming parade. One thing is for sure, the streets of SF will be overloaded with characters sporting their orange and black for one reason or another. It’s an Instagram kind of day!

{BEING.A.MARKETING.ASSOCIATE}

24 Oct

Who loves blogging, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and most of all Stitch Fix? I do! And the best part is I use all those items listed as  the new Marketing Associate for Stitch Fix. As of now my main duties is managing all of Stitch Fix’s social media. It’s my DREAM job! I get to work with amazing, fun, and creative individuals who all passionate about Stitch Fix and the mission of our company. For those who, have no idea what Stitch Fix is be sure to read my previous blog post {Get a Fix} for more information about the company and how it runs. These past 2 days have been nothing, but learning the computer programs used within the company and getting to know the tasks of all the fabulous employees. It has been a long journey of unemployment and finding a job that I feel would benefit all my capabilities. Finally, after much exhaustion and hard work  I have found the company that gives me the drive to challenge myself in order to become successful as a Stitch Fix employee.

{HAPPY.1YEAR.ANNIVERSARY}

9 Oct

I have made many mistakes within my life, doubted past decisions I have made, and I know I will continue to do these type of things. But the one thing in my life that I have done completely right is marry the most amazing man. I knew he was a keeper from the day I met him. I just got lucky he felt the same way! There is something unique about our love for each other, it makes me emotional as I write this paragraph. He truly has been my number 1 supporter throughout all my major early-life decisions. He is the best friend who you can do nothing with, but somehow is always the best time.  He knows exactly what I am going to say before I do (which can get kinda annoying at times, sorry babe). He teaches and challenges me not to be just ordinary. Most of all he is accepting of every attribute and flaw that comes in this package. In the past year, we have made some big decisions and have grown individually and together. I cannot wait to see what the next years have in store for us, but I know with Lou Varni next to me it’s going to be a hell of a ride!  I love you more than sprinkles, yogurt, and chocolate (and you know that’s A LOT ;)).

Happy 1 Year Anniversary and cheers for years to come!

{INSPIRATION.SUNDAY}

30 Sep

Not only is today my birthday, but it is a day I get to celebrate and be thankful for all the many blessing this past year has given me. I got married to the most amazing man, I moved back to what I like to call my “homeland”, and most importantly I have been on a search for a new career path. Thank you to everyone who has supported me this past year and years to come. I couldn’t have survived without the love and continuous motivation.

{Get a Fix!}

20 Sep

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of working at Stitch Fix, located in downtown SF. It was such an amazing experience. For those of you who aren’t familiar to  Stitch Fix…WAKE UP! Here’s a little background information.  Stitch Fix is a new start-up company that has been in business for almost a year and business is booming! It’s what I like to call Birchbox for clothes. It’s like having a personal stylist and not having to to leave your house!  You sign up on their website and request an invite. Once your request is granted, then you take a styling profile, which tells the Stylist team your personal style and the types of clothing you could potentially want in your wardrobe. They create individual looks for you and send them to you once a month (“a fix”). There are usually 5 items in each package you receive. You try on the clothes, keep what you like, and send back what you don’t. There is a $20.00 styling fee each time they send a “fix”, but it’s credited to your account if you buy something from that month’s “fix”. The employees at Stitch Fix are incredible. They greeted me with kindness and educated me on the operations of how their customers receive packages. They are all extremely hard working and believe in the Stitch Fix mission. I would encourage every girl  to send a request because I saw the clothes first-hand and it was like having Pinterest in my closet! I could have died!

I have been waiting for this book to come in the mail for months! I am so excited I have been reading it nonstop for the past 3 days. This book covers tips, advice, and experiences that Joy Cho has developed while creating her own blog Oh Joy! It’s a book made for future, beginning, and expert bloggers. Also, this book is laid out with amazing graphic design work. Overall, it’s inspiring for all bloggers on any level.
